Marcus T. Epps is the Coordinator of Academic Coaching & Tutor Training at Berea College with a focus in peer-assisted mentoring, tutoring, and academic coaching. He earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Policy from the University at Buffalo, SUNY.
After a total of seven years in college, Marcus has become well-versed in how to thrive in the college system; however, this was not always the case. During those seven years, he faced academic, personal, and medical struggles, many of which were worsened by a lack of knowledge on the subtle things you’re supposed to just “know” as a college student.
This blog is to help students overcome the college study struggle and be reminded that they are not alone as they move through the formative, fun, yet at times terrifying years of college. This blog will cover topics surrounding the issues of:
- Time Management
- Study Strategies
- Learning Styles
- Academic Coaching
- Syllabus Issues
- And more
If there are topics you’d like to see explored, leave them in the suggestion box. As a student success specialist, Marcus always wants to be in tune with what students feel are the most pressing issues that they face in the classroom and out of it.
